Magnet made with fabric scraps and flat-backed glass marbles
I saw a few tutorials on magnets made with glass marbles and paper but none with fabric. Here are some magnets I made with fabric scraps.

  • How to make a marble magnet. Glass Marble And Fabric Magnet - Step 1
    Step 1

Spray the glass surface clean with the alcohol and wipe to remove any dust or residue.

Cut out small squares of the fabric remnant (slightly larger than the diameter of the marble). You can also make a template of the marble and slightly larger circles but I did the "square-to-circle" because it was easier for me. Whatever floats your boat.

  • Step 2

Spread some e-6000 on the back of the marble with a toothpick for even coverage.

Press the marble onto the fabric to remove any air bubbles.

Wait for the glue to dry (about half an hour).

  • Step 3

While waiting for the glue to dry, you can cut out some construction paper circles with a scrapbooking hole puncher.

Glue the circles on top of the fabric with e-6000. This is so the glue gun glue won't seep through the fabric and make darker spots when you look through the magnet.

Wait for the glue to dry (about half an hour).

    Step 4

    Fire up the glue gun.

Apply glue to the flat side of the marble.

Press the magnet onto the marble.

Let it dry for an hour before handling.

    Optional step:

    Fold some tissue paper in half and cut out a square 3.5" x 3.5" (9mm x 9mm.

Place a few magnets (3-4 fits well in a square that size) and wrap them with the tissue paper.

    Put in the sachet.

Punch a star-shaped hole on one side of a small piece of cardstock with a message. I like to put 'Made w/ <3 by Mish'. Well, it's not a less-than-three but a hand-drawn heart. :)

Pull the ribbon from the sachet through and tie into a bow.
