That's ok, as long as you're open to learning new things! All pencils are fine, but I prefer softer ones (b (bold), instead of h (hard)), because you can get any shade without pressing too much, so it's easier to erase if you get it wrong. And then look for lessons about shading on youtube or some other pages Happy

Thanks Blackie! I drew this for a poster that was supposed to be all bright, and coloring-book like. I do have quite a bit of issues when it comes to shading. Should I get special pencils?

Nakeisha, i study fine art, so i would like to give you one advice - "basic" doesnt mean that you can draw without shading. Shading is the key and it's much more important than plain color stains. That's why this work of yours looks more like a page from kids' coloring book.. I suggest that next time you dont color it, just draw with pencil and do more shading instead. Only then it can look "real", not like a paper doll to cut out.

Thanks PJ and Noel N! Kirky, I did free hand this. Very basic, didn't need shading. But thanks for your opinion!

It appears as if you traced the picture from a magazine and then filled it in with crayon. If you had been able to free-hand that picture, there would have been shading.
