I ♥ cute coffee cup cozies!

Christmas gift :)

I think I am going to get an empty to-go coffee cup from Starbucks and display my cozie, and then fill the cup with a gift certificate or some goodies.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Get a cardboard coffee sleeve from a coffee place to use as a pattern.
Open it up (making sure to take it apart where it is sealed) and trace it onto your dark brown felt twice (or once on dark brown and once the tan felt), then cut it out.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Use a compas to make the circles on the felt (tan, white, green). Make the tan circle to fit onto your cozie, then make the center green circle, then the white slightly larger than that.

  3. Step 3

Cut out 2 gingerbread men shapes out of the tan felt, and glue on on each side of the cozie. Cut out and glue small green coffee cups for them to hold.
Stitch all around the gingerbread men & coffee cups...embroider your favorite coffee or tea onto the men, or personalize as you wish.
Embroider the steam coming from the coffee cups.

  4. Step 4

Lightly glue the pieces of the circles together, then stitch together for extra security. Sew on gingerbread button to the center and then sew on seed beads.
I had made some small coffee cups out of shrinky dinks that i sewed on the sides as well. I then embroidered my sis-in-law's name.

Lightly glue to brown felt cozie, then stitch.

  5. Step 5

Once you are completely done, then sew the 2 pieces of brown (or brown & tan) felt together. You will have a double thickness of felt to cover the inside stitching, and for extra coffee warmth.
Sew up the back according to where the original sleeve was glued; there will be a small overlap.

Put on your 'to-go' coffee cup & enjoy!
