I used the bottom of the tee to make the cross-over top, with ribbon for straps and to cover ugly seams! I put a zip in the side, but wouldn't have needed to if I'd used stretchy fabric instead of the ribbon. I used an old red vest-top to make side panels as I cut the tee too small in the first place, but I think it turned out well for a first attempt.
