We redecorated my 8 year old daughters room recently and I made this lampshade for her. She didn't want one that was too childish so I made this which I think is both girlish and funky :o)

I bought a lampshade and a t-shirt w. leopard print in a thrift store. Cut up the t-shirt and made it fit the lampshade and finally I attached the boa using stiches by hand.

If you want to make one make sure that the fabric you use is not too thick. It has to be rather thin and almost "transparant" otherwise the light won't be able to shine through.
