French Twist

  • Completed Project: French Twist Picture #1

Fresh, elegant..... Twist!

Please let me know if this is easy to follow. All of the other online french twist directions are really confusing and I want to make an easier one. I'd love to hear your comments!

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

This works best with medium/long hair, but if it's too long, you may have a hard time tucking in the ends.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

First, gather your hair into a low ponytail.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Start to twist it. it doesn't matter which direction you do it, just do whatever seems natural.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Start to pull your hair upward as you twist it.`

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Twist it all the way up.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Here's the confusing part:

You have to turn the strand of your hair back on itself and sort of around so it makes a little bun on the top and...

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

    ...looks like a loop.

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

Tuck in the ends that stick out of one side (the left side here).

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

Fasten it in place with pencils, pins, chopsticks- whatever you have on hand.

  10. Step 10

    Step 10

    Viola!

Oh, that was an awesome tute. The directions must be super clear because I did it while sitting at the computer and pinned it up with some of my husband's sharpies...I am excited since I always assumed this would be too difficult to learn. Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad you like it!

I always assumed it was too difficult as well, until someone showed me in person. ;)
