This is an easy project, I love to wear mine with pastel colors or a simple tank top and skinny jeans. I also like rolling up the sleeves to my elbows, as shown in the picture. I also like to wear it tied at the front on the bottom with my pink lace scarf(have a tutorial for the scarf on this website for that). First, I recommend making pattern pieces for each piece on paper, this way, you can keep them to make another and the sleeve and back piece can definitely be used again for other projects.
For the back piece, I traced the back side of a tank top and added about 2 inches to the side to add the the flowyness of the cardigan, I also made the shoulder straps about 4 inches wide.
For the front pieces, I folded the pattern for the back piece in half, and traced that, then, I made a 45 degree slope from the top shoulder line that extends from the side of the front piece, as shown. The more you extend this triangle from the side, the longer the tip of your cardigan will go to.
Now, to make the sleeves, I would suggest creating the pattern piece as suggested in the picture, and checking how it fits by sewing it wider than your measurements because you can take it in before you sew it on the cardigan, but it sucks to accidentally make a sleeve that's too tight, I've been there...May want to look up a youtube video if you've never made a sleeve before.
Now, attach the front pieces to the back piece with right sides together, attach the side seams and shoulder seams. now, all you have left is to connect the sleeves.
The side seams of the sleeves should be sewn together so they are tube-like, turn the cardigan inside out, stick the sleeve through the inside, and match up the seams, then sew the sleeves on.
