Turn an old mens sweater into a cute bolero cardi!!

Step 1
First take the sweater that you are gonna use.
I used an old mens sweater that I picked up from a charity shop in size extra large to make a cardigan in approx size 12 (not an exact science!....)
The sweater needs to be 100% wool so it will felt... -
Step 2
Put on a hot wash 60c with half the quantity of washing powder that you'd normally use (this will felt and shrink the sweater).

Step 3
Leave it to dry naturally then cut out the waist-band and collar, and curve the edges slightly to soften the overall appearence. I cut the sleeves shorter to 3/4 length.

Step 4
Then deccorate how you want....I used the material that I cut off the sleeves to make a petal design and stitched each petal individually on to the cardigan.

Step 5
Stitch beads around the edge of the design using a running stitch.
Is that US size (approx)12 or UK?
