Time:30h00
Nice & Simple
Description

My first time doing a rose out of felt. It was quite easy to do so I would like to share the tutorial with everyone. You can actually make these roses into brooches or earrings. Very versatile and cute. by angelichigo.

Instructions
  1. 1
    Step 1

    You will need:
-Felt or other fabric (I chose indigo blue)
    -Scissors
    -Ring band
    -Needle
    -Matching colour thread

  2. 2
    Step 2

Cut out as much pedals as you wish.
I used 11 pedals. You can cut more to make your rose to have more volume.
My pedal size is within 1 inch x 1 inch.

  3. 3
    Step 3

Take a pedal and put a string at the tip of the pedal (the side that is narrower) as show in the picture

  4. 4
    Step 4

Pull the string tight so that you create a shape like this. Tie a knot to keep the shape. Repeat these steps for the rest of the pedals

  5. 5
    Step 5

You should have something like this.

  6. 6
    Step 6

Take four of them and sew them together.

Tips: One pedal should overlap the other (like a fan)

  7. 7
    Step 7

You should have something like this after sewing the 4.

  8. 8
    Step 8

Repeat another set of 4 and a set of 2. Keeping one pedal remaining.

  9. 9
    Step 9

Now, stack the 3 sets together and sew. You should have 2 sets of four's and 1 set of two's. Make sure the set of two's is at the top.

    Tips: Distribute the pedals evenly

  10. 10
    Step 10

Now mold the two pedals in the center and squeeze a bit inwards and secure with thread.

  11. 11
    Step 11

Use the remaining pedal and roll the tip to something like this and secure with thread. This will be used as the center pedal.

  12. 12
    Step 12

Fit the pedal into the center and sew in place.

Tips: you might need to trim the center pedal a bit if it appears to be taller than the rest of the pedals.

  13. 13
    Step 13

Cut out the same size circle as the ring blank from the felt.

  14. 14
    Step 14

Sew the circle to the bottom of the rose.

  15. 15
    Step 15

You should have something like this. Now glue the circle onto the ring band circle area.

  16. 16
    Step 16

    Ta la~ You're done!

Btw you can make the ring out of a piece of elastic, just measure your finger and then sew the ends of the elastic together, sew the flower to the part of the elastic that you sewed together. I seen that on another kind of dyi ring. Thought I'd share because so many people asked where to get the ring part.
