Felt Matroyshka

Cute little nesting toys inspired by the Russian classic.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Cut out the body design and trace it on to the felt.

  2. Step 2

    Cut out two identical pieces.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Cut out a square of skin-tone cotton and draw on a face.

  4. Step 4

    Trace and cut out the wrap and bow.

  5. Step 5

    Glue on the face, then the wrap, then the bow.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Draw and cut out the flower.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

    Glue it on.

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

    Sew straight stitch around the border of the wrap.

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

    Sew the two pieces together with overcast stich around only the BOTTOM.

  10. Step 10

    Step 10

    Make smaller ones, and put them inside each other!
