Felt Citrus Wedge

  • Completed Project: Felt Citrus Wedge Picture #1

Lemons, Oranges, Limes or Grapefruit... felt food for fun!

I saw a picture of these on a swap I was involved with on another craft site and decided my daughter had to have some oranges.

I made my own pattern based on what I saw. Hope this helps you bring joy to someone who likes play food.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Assemble your supplies.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Cut out one circle in white. A slightly smaller circle in the color of the citrus fruit you are making. And a lozenge shape whose sides are the same length as half of your larger, white, circle in the color of your fruit's rind.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Put your circles together! The color on top of the white.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Now sew them together. A running stitch around the edge, another down the middle and then the detail running stitch to make sections in your citrus wedge. You will end up with a spoked wheel as seen to the left.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Sew the lozenge rind to the circle making sure you line up the center stitch with the points on the lozenge. Leave a space to stuff!

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Stuff your almost complete citrus wedge with polyfill (or whatever other stuffing you think is appropriate).

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

Stitch your wedge shut and try not to eat it!
