Mario mushrooms I made for my fiance and my daughter<3
These started out as a present for my fiance's birthday, because he's a gamer. My daughter loved them so much, she gave them names-Kiki and Dotdot- so I decided to make her a bunch. Then I made some for my niece, and my best friends' son.

    Step 2

Cut a square of a different color felt. Wrap it around your finger to decide how long/short and wide/narrow you want the stem of your mushroom to be.

    Step 3

Stitch the two long sides together, to make a cylinder.

    Step 4

Cut a small circle of felt in the same color as your tube, slightly larger than the circumference of the tube. Tuck an edge of the circle into one end, and start stitching it in. Keep tucking and stitching all the way around, until it's completely sealed in. Push the needle in and pull it back out through the opening at the other end, tie a knot, and cut of excess.

  • Step 5

Using your black thread, stitch 2 seed beads onto the front side of your stem. Run your needle back through each bead 2 or 3 times to secure. If you're like my Sofi, you may want a mouth on it. I used a contrasting embroidery floss.
    Sorry I don't have a pic!

    Step 7

Sorry I don't have a pic for this bit!
Stick the open end of the stem up into the hole in the mushroom cap, and begin stitching the pieces together. Tie a knot and tuck it under the cap.

    Step 8

Cut 4-6 small circles or ovals out of your stem color of felt. Squirt a bit of glue onto the back side of a circle/oval, and stick it onto the cap where you want it to go. I usually start with the center, then I put the rest around it fairly symmetrically.

    Step 9

Now that you have one sweet little shroom buddy, he needs friends! Make a bunch, so he won't be lonely. Sofi has 7, now, all in different color combos. They make great gifts, and if you add a bit of ribbon to the center of the cap, you can make them into keychains
