Stylish pouch for mobile phone!
Sorry there are no photos for this how to. I got a bit zealous about making it before I thought about taking photos lol
I hope my instructions make sense though. Let me know if they don't.

  • Step 1

Gather your materials. I chose to machine sew this, but you could hand sew it too.
I also chose a faux leather fabric for my cover as it would fit in with my handbag then, but I suppose any fabric can be used.

  • Step 2

I created a pattern on my computer basically because I'm lazy and didn't want to spend ages with a ruler and pencil drawing it out.
It's just a rectangle a little bit bigger than the width and length dimensions of the phone you wish to make it for. I made mine for my Samsung Galaxy S, but I'd say it would fit an iPhone in it as well.
The other part to the pattern is the strip I'm using to get the phone out. This is optional depending on your fabric/material. I knew I was using a relatively sturdy material that I wouldn't have to hem. This should be at least twice the length of your phone plus I bit more for hemming and folding over which I will explain in a moment. I chose for mine to be no bigger than 2cm, but is is entirely up to you.

  • Step 3

Cut your pieces out of your desired material/fabric. Because of the material I used, I chose not to line mine, but it is an option if you so choose.
You will need two sides to your pouch and a long thin strip for pulling your phone out with.
I shall continue to call these pouch piece 1 (PP1), pouch piece 2 (PP2) and the tab strip (TTS).

  • Step 4

Firstly pin the TTS roughly in the centre top of PP1 in a portrait position. It's entirely up to you which way round you want TTS to be. I did mine right side TTS to wrong side PP1. I found it easiest just to briefly tack this into place whilst I did the next bit.
Fold the whole of the top of PP1 over to desired hem size.
    Sew into place.

  • Step 5

Now hem PP2 by folding over the whole of the top when held in portrait position.
    Sew into place.

  • Step 6

Hem TTS on the other end. Sew into place.

  • Step 7

Place both PP1 and PP2 right sides together. Both hemmed edges should meet at the top. Pin into place. I decided to tack them into place so they wouldn't come apart when I sewed them with the machine.
Now sew around the 3 un-hemmed sides.
    Undo pins or tacking.

  • Step 8

Turn your pouch the right way round and there you have your finished pouch. I found it easiest to actually use my phone to push the corners out :-P
TTS should now lay both sides of you phone and there should be a little bit sticking up out the top of the pouch. This is what is used to pull your phone out of it's pouch.
Enjoy using your new phone pouch.
