I've seen a crafty dvd, where the lady made a big glass bowl with this technic, but a different material (she used crystalline gel which is a marvellous stuff).

First you need some nice patterns. I can't draw so I always "steal" the patterns (as you probably know from my former project, the water lily window paint).
I use my own photos or anything what catch my eyes. This was our calendar in last year. Beautiful patterns from the far east (decorated silks).
I really love this pattern, this is an old Japanese kimono pattern. I scanned the calendar, and transformed the picture in black and white, because I only need the outlines (again... :) )

I'd like the pattern to run around the frame, so after I printed the image in the right size, I cut the patterns and stuck on an A/4 white sheet. As you can see, this time I only used the heart motifs.
Put the sheet under the glass then draw the lines with the glass paint contour.
When the lines are dry you could paint the colors. First I planned a colored pattern but I like this plain gold motif so I kept it.
