  • How to make a plug earring. Fake Gauge Earrings - Step 1
    Step 1

Start with an old (or new) pair of post earrings with the longer style back.

    Step 2

    Break up your baking clay.

    Step 3

Mold the clay around the earring parts.

A flat round piece for the post and a little horn-like piece for the backing. Just wedge the backing in there, it will stay in! (I was worried it was going to slip out, I just want to eliminate that doubt)

Then bake as directed by your package of clay.

    Step 4

Paint or color. I used a black marker in a pinch because my paint supply is low.

(If you're a sharpie fanatic, a rainbow pattern would be super fun!)

    Here is the finished product!

When they are dry, put them on and wear them proudly. And I do mean proudly! In most areas I've been to, people get looked down upon for having such ear accessories.

Have tons of fun with your new look!

It looks nice in black. Happy I had real spacers at one point (just little ones in purple) but I lost the one when I went swimming. Happy and so now it has grown back. That's a great idea though! Happy
