Preheat your oven to 275°.
Spread out a sheet of waxed paper to use as your work surface.
Condition the clay by kneading it until soft and smooth. Work with small amounts at a time for best results.
Decide on the general shape and size of your pendant and form the clay accordingly. Optional: let clay chill for ½ hour to an hour in the refrigerator.
Take Xacto knife and cut slices from the surface of the clay in random patterns, mimicking the facets of a gemstone or crystal. Slice until the entire surface of the clay is faceted.
Decide how you want your pendant to hang, and use the needle tool or toothpick to pierce a hole at the top of the pendant. The clay will shrink slightly when baked, so make sure the hole you create is large enough to accommodate the string material you have chosen.
Place pendant in oven and bake for 30 minutes per ¼ inch thickness.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Once the pendant has cooled you can paint it using the Golden Fluid Acrylic. For a dip-dyed effect paint the bottom half of the pendant, and leave the top half plain. You could also try small patterns, polka dots, or stripes.
Allow the acrylic to dry to the touch (10-30 min).
Finish the pendant by glazing over the entire piece using the Sculpey glaze. Apply it with a soft brush in 2-3 thin layers, allowing piece to dry between each layer.
Hang pendant from desired string material, and enjoy your new piece of jewelry!
