Very fun and easy fashion accessories
 <  Image 1 of 4  >

These barrettes are fun and easy to make. They are great for using little bits of fabric especially your stashed vintage treasures). They also show case special buttons and are a great use for those buttons that have no matches. I sometimes make matching pairs but I really like the making coordinates that are each a little different but still look good worn together.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    1. Pick out and Iron fabrics, I usually work on several pair at once picking out fabrics and buttons before I start gluing. Then I work in like an assembly line fashion. Gluing all the fabric on then cutting all at once etc…

These are so cute, such a fantastic idea. I'm going to look up no fray spray on ebay now. It'll come in handy for my bows too. Thanks.

I got my no-fray spray at hancocks or joannes I think! but I think you can pick it up at any crafty fabric store super store(like hobby lobby or michaels maybe?) Mine is called Fray stop and the USA company is Sullivans (630)-435-1530
It is pretty toxic stuff, I use it on my tiny serged ends. You CAN totally make them without the no fray...I just started using it cause it works kinda like a scotch guard (helps keep them clean) and of course they do not fray up around the edges so much( since I sell them I want them to make sure They last and stay pretty). If you do not use no fray I suggest maybe leaving a TINY bit more fabric around your edges to allow for some xtra fray.
