SMART - WARM - SENSIBLE
This is the ideal underwear set for everyday wear. It's sensible, warm, yet well fitting and trim. The whole set only requires eight ounces of yarn.

All set for the day's work. If you're working round the house or have any energetic out-of-door task on hand you'll appreciate this trim yet sensible vest and pantie set with knitted shoulders that have no ribbon straps to slip and break.

"Who cares if it snows?" Certainly no one if they're wearing this variation of the vest and pantie set. It is knitted in such fine wool that it can be worn under a fitting frock, and is so warm you can laugh at a north-east wind.

MEASUREMENTS The Vest Length, 30 ins. Bust size, 34 ins. to 36 ins. The Panties Length at side edge, 16-i ins.
TENSION About 8 sts. to 1 in., measured over unstretched pattern.

    Not quiet so "everyday"

You think it's a charming pattern, but you don't like knitted shoulders to your vests? To ring the changes and turn it into an opera-top vest is very simple. You work exactly as given for the original vest as far as the beginning of the neck and armhole shaping. Here you cast off right across. Work the back to correspond, then join the side seams and work the picot edge as given in the instructions all round the top. Thread ribbon through the edging and sew on the shoulder straps. There are not a few of you who really do feel the cold severely, and unless you wear woollen underwear are never properly warm. You are faced with the problem of finding woollen undergarments sufficiently fine and well fitting no, to spoil the line of frocks. This vest and pantie set can be adapted to your particular needs. The photograph on page 9 shows the set worked in a very fine wool. You will see how slim fitting the vest and panties set can be, and quite suitable for wearing under a slim-fitting frock. The wool used is a specially fine 2-ply wool, and the whole set can be made with 4 oz.
