Turn a soda can in to leaf ornaments

Crafts

Instructions

  1. 1

Cut tops and bottoms off cans and down one side to make a long rectangle, rinsing inside surface to remove any residue. Be careful as the edges will be very sharp!

  2. Step 2 2

Press rectangle down flat onto a thick magazine with the printed side up and tape edges down. The magazine should then be placed on top of a firm surface.

  3. 3

Use leaves as templates to trace shapes onto printed side of aluminium with biro.

  4. Step 4 4

Use biro to draw in any veins or details, pressing firmly to emboss the metal.

  5. Step 5 5

Cut through tape to remove tin from work surface, turn over and cut out leaf shapes.

  6. 6

Use a nail or similar to punch holes in leaves and thread through with ribbon or cord.

  7. 7

Hang individually from an outdoor tree to glitter in sun, string together as a mobile, use as gift tags or to embellish other craft projects like cards or collage.
