Glow in the dark magical electrical tape Nails!
I sat down at my craft table and saw my electrical tape sitting out-and since I had just tried out a new nail polish mix I thought I would extend my nail decorating creativity.

Note: I used full size scissors. So I guess it could be done, but I think it would be much easier with smaller scissors-those dinky ones! Also, this doesn't hold up the greatest-so maybe do it for a special occasion! I'd like to add to use nail glue on the pieces of electrical tape if you wish to wear this look for longer periods of time.

Glow in the Dark Nail Polish Note: It does work, but it needs light to restore it's glow-also it takes additional coats because it's a thin consistancy.

  • How to make a nail sticker. Electrical Tape Nail Decor. - Step 1
    Step 1

First, I did two coats of glow in the dark nail polish. (Drys pretty quick, too.)

The next layers went as follows or close to it anyways(optional on the sequence): one coat sparkly nail polish, two coats glow in the dark nail polish, two coats sparkly nail polish, one coat glow in the dark. I used a sparkly/clearish nail polish because I figured that will allow the glow in the glow nail polish to show through but would still add color and character.

    Step 3

Eectrical tape-grab one color you wish to be your tips.

This is the trickiest part. Note: It tends to be a bit frusterating working with a full size scissors so next time, I would want to use/try one of those little pair.

You may screw up here and there, so just start again. They don't have to be super perfect-buut, I would suggest them to fit on the inside of the nail (as in not hanging off any sides sticking and overlaping skin, or tip.) I just eyeballed it, and cut accordingly. Take it nice and slow if you're having problems. (I did. ha.)

Next, get out the second color of electrical tape. Cut small triangles-easiest if you start right at the edge. Cut whole legenth of tape slightly slanted, allow a small area and then cut back slanted the opposite way.

When done with that, take a look at them-trim anything you think you could improve. Again, I used full size scissors-DON'T! Much more difficult-use small scissors.

Then, do one coat of your top coat polish.

    Step 6

Let dry, then do another coat of top coat polish. Still when wet, place your gem or small finding in where you wish-let dry. Then apply one more coat. Concentrate on the gem and very edge of the tip of your nail. Be generous.

    Step 7

I did the gems on only my thumb and pinky. (Placement optional.)

Upkeep: I would add a top coat every day or more as maintenance-but I honestly don't know how long this will last-I don't think it will last long and I do alot with my hands and it may be short lived. But with any doubt, maybe for special occasions or a night out. Do alot of top coats!!

And the glow in the dark polish will glow, but should probably add a few more glow coats before the top coat if you want something drastic.
