Easy Cover For Ds Lite

Really easy knitted DS lite cover
My son got a DSlite for Christmas, together with a fancy storage case. However,he usually leaves it on charge overnight, and with one of his old Gameboy Advanced games in place, so he can't use the case. And it's starting to get dusty. So I knitted up this super easy cover out of some matching wool. Here's how to make one.
Cast on 16 sts. Work 2 rows in stocking st (stockinette). Next row is the button hole row - knit 7 sts, yarn round needle, k2tog, knit to end. Work another 9 rows in stocking stitch (stockinette).
Next 2 rows - cast on 2 sts at the beginning of the row.
Then work in stocking stitch until the strip of knitting is twice the length of the DSlite. Cast off (bind off).
For fun I sewed the sides together with glow-in-the-dark wool, but the same yarn or a contrasting one would look good. Remember to leave an opening where the power socket (port) will be. Then you can still charge the DS up when it's in its super cover. Add a button. All done!
