I like putting handmade things in my niece's presents, because they feel a little more personal.

For my youngest niece, who's 6 months old, I made her a little stuffed bunny rabbit. I freehanded the pattern, and folded the felt over to cut two at a time, so that it was even. I thought about putting buttons on as eyes, but they're a choking hazard, so I decided to leave them out. It's roughly the size of my palm. Just a little guy :)

For my older nieces who are 4 and 2 1/2, I made them little chick finger puppets. My favourite part about them is the mouth, which I sewed in the middle, so that it can flap open and closed a bit ;)
