Their trash can become your treasure with TLC
While driving home from work I saw this little beauty sitting by the curb. She was quite banged up and needed some love but isn't she a doll now? Plus, since I had everything this remodel was free! :)

I was watching Mad Men Season 1 Episode 1 and saw this chair in the background. Right before Betty wrecks hits the birdbath it is sitting on the divorced neighbors curb. How's that for a nice surprise :)

You Will Need

    Unfortunately I forgot the take a picture of the chair before I removed the disgusting water and mold logged bottom. This piece was thrown away, but now before I traced a pattern of the shape on to a brown paper bag to use as a reference later.

    Step 2

    FIRST clean your chair with disinfectant or rubbing alcohol , then use a sander to lightly rough up the surface or use spraypaint primer which is AMAZING and so much faster then primer in a bucket.

    Once primer is dry, spraypaint the metal base in a color of your choice.

  • Step 3

    Cut a piece of wood into the shape you traced onto the brown paper. Spray wood with spray adhesive and attach high density foam in the shape of the pattern.

  • Step 4

    Using a staple gun reupholster seat,

    tip: Wrapping the seat in batting will make the finished result look more finished.
