Dried Chilli Pepper Strings

Spice up the kitchen with some dried chilli pepper strings.

  1. Step 1

    Cut three lengths of ribbon measuring 25" each.

  2. Step 2

    Tie together at one end, pin to a pincushion, pleat / braid together and tie together at the final end.

    Loop over and tie the two ends together.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Take a selection of ripe chillis, 6 or more.


  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Take a needle and thread, pierce through the top (stalk end) of the chillis and thread on to your ribbon loop.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Hang to dry out, in a cool dark place, for several weeks and you can then use the dried chillis for cooking.
