  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Take the two colors you want.

It doesnt matter if one color has more than the other.

In the tutorial I am using Dark Purple and Fantasy Blue, and choosing to use the same amount of hair for each color.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Lay one color on top of the other.

(I know theres a pepsi bottle in the background! I use a steamer and it makes for thirsty work :p)

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Pull the hair in half and put half ontop of the other half.

Continue to break the hair in half and putting it on top, until you have reached a color that YOU like.

Remember if you leave blocks of one color in it, you will get more of a marbled effect when you come to twisting and sealing your dread.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    DONE!

Remeber you can create as much or as little as you want. if you want loads of dreads the same color, mix loads of hair together, if you only want one or two, then only do a smaller amount.

Experiment with different colors and see what you can create!
