This is an 18 inch Designer Friend Doll which is similar to the American Girl range of dolls. The outfit cost very little to make compared with the store bought clothing on offer.
The pattern can easily be found on the internet for free or in a dolls clothes book which costs a few pounds/dollars.
I've attached a few pictures of the same pattern but using different fabrics.

Step 1Find a dress pattern for free or use a dress that fits the doll as a rough guide to the size.
Cut out the fabric.
Sew seams together and hem.
Fasten at the back using the Velcro.
