DIY Playdough-the possibilities are endless
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

This stuff is great! we had no money till next weekend...so i looked in my daughters craft books. i found DIY play dough and decided to give it a shot! Me and my boyfriend spent a weekend making little things like beads, flowers, skulls, and small wall hangings.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    STEP 1

    1. First get a BIG bowl!

    2. Measure out flour and salt.

    3. Add water, but only about a 1/4 of a cup at a time till desired consistency. Kneading constantly...this could take up to 10min.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

so you should have dough that looks like this. also you have the option to add food coloring.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    STEP 3

Set your oven for 200 degrees. leave them in for 2-4 hours. if they start to brown make sure to cover w/foil or take them out!

    OR

if you don't want to use your oven you can leave out your creations to air dry. depending on the size, this could take 2 hours to 2-3 days.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    STEP 4

So once your let your creations cool and they are completely dry, they are hard as a rock! you can paint them, i used acrylics, watercolors, and if you want a gloss finish, just apply a coat of Mod-podge!
