Add some flair to an old pair of jeans!
I saw a pair of jeans from Gap in the spring and was inspired to DIY my own pair for almost nothing instead of shelling out money to buy a new pair. You can easily tweak this DIY to add a different design other than stripes.

I used fabric paint medium which turns any acrylic paint into fabric paint (it’s awesome and I haven’t had a problem with any of the paint washing off of clothes I put it on), but you are welcome to just buy white fabric paint instead if you don’t want to do the mixing.

The directions on the fabric paint bottle is to mix equal parts fabric paint medium and acrylic paint, but I wanted a less opaque white so I mixed two parts fabric paint to one part white paint.

Tape off the stripe pattern desired on the jeans. I suggest using a ruler or measuring tape to make sure the stripes are even on each pant leg.

Once you’ve taped your pattern paint the fabric paint mixture on and don’t forget to do the back side of your jeans. I had to paint a couple layers of white for each stripe and it would look a bit patchy so I would dab the paint on the jeans with a rag to even out the color.

When you’re done with your jeans let them dry before attempting to wear them. I got too excited and put them on before they completely dried and ended up with some white paint on my legs.
