  • How to sew a pair of patched jeans. Diy Patched Skinny Jeans - Step 1
    Step 1

    1 Pair black skinny jeans
Denim – I recommend using the knees from another pair of jeans.
2 Zippers – 7 inch brass jean zippers work best
    Pins
    Scissors
    Seam ripper (optional)
    Needle & thread
    Sewing machine

    Step 2

Lay your jeans out flat, place your zipper on top of the outer seam and mark with pins where you want them to be.

Cut open your side seams, starting at the bottom hem and ending where you pinned, (this should be just before the end of your zipper.

Place your zipper inside your jeans and pin it in place.

Try to pin it so that when it’s zipped you can’t see it.

Open your zipper (this will make it easier to sew) and sew your zipper in place.

You can do this by hand or with your sewing machine, whatever works best for you.

    Step 3

Try your jeans on for this step.

Place your denim patches over your knees and either looking in a mirror or having someone help you pin them to the knees of your jeans.

    Make sure they are even.

When you pin them, fold the edges under all the way around for a cleaner patch.

    Step 4

Using your needle and thread, sew your patches to your jeans.

I used a basic whip stitch all the way around the patch.
