5 simple steps to flowy & pretty
I love a good high-low hemline, which is strange considering it's basically the mullet of skirts (short in front and longer in the back). I had found an almost-cool skirt at a thrift store (it had a pretty pattern and pockets, but was also an awkward mid-calf length), so I decided to transform it into a trendy, flowy, and downright pretty fishtail style.

*Please note: I made this tutorial after I made the skirt, so please bear with the fact that I used my finished skirt as the example in the steps below. (Just pretend the skirt wasn't already cut & sewn, and we'll be just fine).

    Step 1

Gather your supplies, and put your skirt on to determine where you want the shortest part to fall. Mark this spot with your chalk.

Turn the skirt inside out (in case your chalk doesn't wash out, it won't be visible), and fold it in half down the middle.

Important --> fold in half down the middle of the skirt - as if you want to make a crease down the center of the front & back of the skirt. (You'll know you've done it right when the tag in the back of the skirt is folded in half).

Using your chalk, draw a line on the fabric where you will cut it. You want the line to be straight in front, and to taper down on the sides. Then take a deep breath, and cut the fabric.

Optional: you may want to draw it out on something like a paper bag first, then cut it and use it as a pattern like I did.

Try the skirt on to make sure it's the correct length. When it's perfect, fold & iron the hem (folding twice if the fabric is prone to fraying, as this will hide it when it does), & pin it down.

Sew the hem either by hand or with a machine.

Then pop that puppy on and admire the coolness that is you.

And don't forget to give yourself props for doing such a kick ass job.
