Investing in the right kind of face primer may be a difficult choice for newbies. Try this homemade one first which does quite an awesome job of fulfilling the claims of a basic primer : mattifies, evens out complexion, boosts glow and elongates your makeup wear!

  • How to make a cosmetic. Diy Face Primer! - Step 1
    Step 1

Start with about a tablespoon of aloe gel. We are starting with a sample amount for now so that you can have a trial first and see if it suits your beauty regime!
Aloe gel is a natural sub for making your skin shine free and preventing makeup meltdowns!
PS: Get the store-bought one because it already has preservatives which extends the shelf life of the product!

Next step is moisturizer which smoothens the application of foundation!
    Mix in :
1)the same amount of moisturizer as the gel for normal skin

    2) more moisturizer and less gel for dry skin

    3) less moisturizer and more gel if you have combo/oily skin

    Step 3

Starting from a couple of blobs of foundation, add as much as you want to achieve desired coverage.

Keep in mind that if you like to independently wear primer, you can add a bit more pigment but if you regularly wear foundation on top then keep the pigment to a minimum!

    Step 4

Add in about a teaspoon of sunblock or less.
Lastly, mix in the loose powder or scrape out a bit of powder if you're using the compact version.
Powder again helps with the mattifying and anti-shine affect and if it's not translucent it aids in a bit more coverage too!

    Step 5

Mix in everything evenly with a spoon so that the consistency is somewhere in between dense and runny and you're all set!

    Step 6

You can pretty up the jar if you're like me and like to make pretty things just cuz' it makes you smile and even refrigerate it so that it soothes your skin every time you put it on!

This recipe is completely customisable, you can also add a bit of frosty white eyeshadow, a shimmery blush pigment or a golden eyeshadow to give a highlighter effect and add an irresistible sheen to the face!

    Happy potion-making! :)

Thank you! I've tried this and I'm very happy with the outcome. This is going to save me so much money. I used products from my infinite stash of free samples and the only thing I had to buy was the aloe vera gel, and that was less than $4. Happy
