a fun and creative chalkboard

I was at the craft store and found some cool chalkboard paint and decided to give it a try. This is what I came up with.
The fun part is you don't have to use any of the stuff I did. As long as you buy the chalkboard paint($3.49) you can paint on any surface!

You will need to begin with a piece of cardboard or card-stock and paint it with the chalkboard paint.

You will need to add 2 coats of paint and make sure to let dry 1 hour between each coat. This will ensure a nice even finish.

YOu then write on your new chalkboard to condition it and make sure the chalk will stay. Just rub the chalk around, Now you have a new chalkboard!

You may then leave it like this or follow the next step for a creative touch.

I then added ribbon between the chalkboard and the leopard printed cardboard to create a seamless effect.
(My cutting was awful)

You can then add a few more accents to it to make it more personalized. I had a few faux gems and decided to add them.
You can add bows or stickers or whatever you have laying around! thats the fun part, being creative and making something unique!
