  1. Step 1

    Step 1

You'll need a pack of diapers 50 or more. A paper towl roll, rubber bands or yarn, and some type of a base. I used cardbord

1st take all the diapers and roll them, secure with rubber bands or yarn.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Start securing the diapers to the paper towel roll. Make sure to go all the way around.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

This is how it should look now.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Now start securing diaper roll around the 1st circle of diapers.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Keep repeating the process until you reach the desired size. When you are satisfied with the size of the bottom tier, the move on the next tier. You should have less circles of diapers the more you get to the top.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

When you are done with that, cover the rubber bands or yarn with ribbon. Add something cute on top. I used a rubber duckie. You can use a babybottle, or a cute little softie. (Whatever floats your boat.) Finish decorating with anykind of baby stuff you want. (Oh and if you want to be really cool I heard of people using a bottle of wine or other alchol instead of a paper roll in the middle!)

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

I used cardboard for the base, and covered it with a handmade blanket. You definately want to use something as a base otherwise your diapers will fall out.

Is this the first one you have made???
It looks GREAT!

I've been making diaper cakes for along time, I like to use a basket instead of a cardbord base, I like laundery baskets because they are both cheap and usefull. and I put a cardbord box in the bottom and cover the box with tisue paper so the whole cake isnt in the basket. Also something fun we always do with them is play a baby shower game with it, you tell everyone who is invited to the shower that if they bring diapers or wipes each package will count as one entry into a spechial drawing, and then everyone who brings a package of diapers or wipes gets one guess per package of how many diapers are in the cake. My friend did that at her shower and she didnt have to buy diapers for 6 months! So it can really be the gift that keeps on giving.

Again its beautiful!
