Techniques-
RT=Right Twist
K2tog and leave sts on left needle. Knit the first of these two sts again. Slip both sts from left needle together.
LT=Left Twist
Skip the next st to be knitted and knit into the back loop of the second st. Knit into the back loops of both sts (the st you skipped and and the second st).

Note!- For WS rows, LTs and RTs are purled.

Work these sts back and forth in garter stitch for 8 rows
Step 2
Row 1 (RS): K3, P1, *LT, P4, RT*, P1, K3
Even Rows 2-16 (WS): K3, [knit the knit stitches, purl the purl stitches], K3
Row 3: K3, P2, *LT, P2, RT, P2*, K3
Row 5: K3, P3, *LT, RT, P4*, end last repeat P3, K3
Row 7: K3, P4, *RT, P6*, end last repeat P4, K3
Row 9: K3, P3 *RT, LT, P4*, end last repeat P3, K3
Row 11: K3, P2, *RT, P2, LT, P2*, K3
Row 13: K3, P1, *RT, P4, LT*, P1, K3
Row 15: K3, P8, *LT, P6*, P2, K3
Step 3
Repeat these 16 rows 7 times.
Step 4
Work rows 1-8 one more time.
Step 5
Work 8 rows in garter st.
