Turn an Envelope into a Spiffy Bookmark
I can't remember where I saw, this, but I got tired of using cracker-wrappers and old homework for bookmarks and decided to get creative. This is what I came up with!

  • How to make a corner bookmark. Cutting Corners Bookmark - Step 1
    Step 1

    Gather the materials you'll need.

    A pair of scissors
    An envelope
    A pencil
    Something to decorate

    Step 2

Mark off the corner of the envelope. This helps to ensure a straight cut.

    Step 3

Cut on the line you drew.

    Step 4

Decorate! I like to slip my new bookmark over the other corner of the envelope. It doesn't wrinkle too easily that way and it keeps the Sharpies from leaking to the other side.

    Ideas for how to decorate:
-Your favorite quote from a book
    -Your favorite quote in general
-A list of things to read
-Use a pre-used envelope and use the stamp side.

    Happy Reading!

This would be great way to upcycle an old envelope (the the return ones that come in junk mail) into something useful.
