Cool to have even if you dont smoke!

I started making these one day cus i was bored with the plain ol' regular bic lighters. i dont smoke but my friends that do never seenm to have a lighter so i decorated one and threw one in my purse so when they needed on i could offer them a stylish one. and then i had to make them for all my friends!

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    collect everything you want to put on your lighter.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    start with a plain ole lighter


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    peel off label and remove safty with a pair of pliers

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    cut paper that you want to be back ground to size of lighter about 3 inches tall and then wrap around lighter to measure width.


  5. Step 5

    apply mod podge on the back of the paper and wrap around lighter. dont worry if the paper is longer than the lighter you can trim the bottom to fit! make sure you only cover the colored part.

  6. Step 6

    Glue on any ribbon or lace with a hot glue gun.

    stick on sticker you would like to use or what ever other embellishment you want.

  8. Step 8

    then cover in mod podge and let dry.

    Then it is ready to use!!!!!!

    makes great gifts for anyone who smokes!!!! all my friends have one! everyone asks where you can buy them! I started to have to put peoples names on myne because they get stolen!!!!!

i just mad a masculine one for a guy i work with decorated it with grommits and all of his fave sports teams it was waaaaaaaay harder than i thought cus i am girly girly and looooove glitter and rhinestones heehhe ^.^

Cool, I do this to my lighters too..I never thought to use lace, great idea! I use tissue paper and recycled vintage pics from old children's encyclopedias. (I don't smoke either but I use lighters to light incense & candles) :D
