Enjoy, with a nice cup of hot tea! ^.^
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

I was trying to find a use for all these fruit sauce cups I had, and thought they kind of looked like cupcake bottoms. So I made them into pincushions!
Here I used a piece of vintage fabric I was saving for a while cause I love the print..but you can also use felt :)

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Wash and dry a fruit cup. Then add the stuffing.(enough so it'll make a nice cupcake top shape)

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Sew a button on the fabric where the middle of your pincushion will be..(I actually forgot to sew it on, so I had to glue it with a glue gun afterwards).

With one hand, hold the fabric down and sew around the rim of the plastic cup securely. You might need to sew around a few times to make sure it holds.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Cut the fabric as close as you can to the rim.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

To make it look nicer, cut a piece of felt to fit around the plastic cup and glue around the stitching and around the cup.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

With your glue gun, add some glue onto the bottom of the baking cup and gently place the cupcake on it.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Take a large muffin pan and place the cupcake in one of the holes.Carefully add some more glue around the crinkle part of the baking cup and press down on the pincushion.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

Take it out, add some pins and enjoy!

    :)
