Alrighty. Crochet a simple white hat. Crochet eyes and cute black ears. Now sew it all together. Done. I just changed this from "creation" to "how to", months after making the hat. So 'bear' (hardy har har) with me, please :)). All of the links that I added were ones that give the basic info that you need to complete the project. I didn't use any patterns when i made my hat, but these are the closest to what i did do. ALSO, please excuse the lack of photos. :(

Instructions

  1. Look around on the web for a plain crochet hat pattern... I PROMISE that they are out there. here are some links... http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-a-beanie/ Create a plain white hat until it is right at the size you want your finished hat to be, but DON'T finish it off.

  2. Now, stitch one last row, but change the color to black for this one. SUPER EASY, I swear. Just in case you don't know how to change colors, i added a link to a girl's blog..... Just scroll down until you see pictures of a crochet hook and white yarn. http://aprildraven.blogspot.com/2009/11/how-to-switch-colors-and-use-chart.html

  3. Now for the ears. basically all they are are little half-circles crocheted in black. Here's a pattern http://crochet.about.com/od/learnbasics/ss/halfcircles.htm MAKE DOS.

  4. FINALLY, the eyes. This is the trickiest part, but only because i'm going to screw up the explanation...lol Follow this pattern for the eyes... http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-a-circle/ This pattern however, only shows how to do the basic shape, and not how to make it look like an eye... SO. This is what ya havtah do... In row 1, crochet the "ch 2" in white, but the rest in black. Row 2 and 3 should be in black Row 4 and 5 in white, and Row 6 and 7 in black. HOWEVER, depending on the size of your hat/hook/gauge/WHATEVER, you may want to adjust that a bit. MAKEE TWOO

  5. NOW, using black yarn and a yarn needle (or crochet hook), sew your pieces onto the hat. and finally, after hours of sore eyes and hand cramps, you have yourself a FANTABULOUS panda hat.
