Iced gems

Nic Nac cookies are in Belgium well known for 'Sinterklaas' :) on the night from the 5th on the 6th of december Sinterklaas puts some of these cookies, other candy and toys in the shoes from the nice kids.
I thought it could be an original idea for a ring =)
I did some research and found that in other countries similar cookies are called 'ICED GEMS'

I used the term 'SECOND GLUE' I don't know if it's the right word:)
but what I mean is very strong glue that dries in seconds.

Instructions

  1. Step 1 1

Take some clay (i'd prefer white clay) and roll it till you have a little ball.

  2. Step 2 2

Mash the clayball until you have a slice of about 1.5 cm diameter and 0.5 cm thick

  3. Step 3 3

now notch small ribs in the edge of the clayslice

  4. Step 4 4

notch a groove wide enough for the ring on the bottomside

  5. Step 5 5

roll another clayball and make it flat on the bottomside and pointy on top. Notch diagonal grooves in it so it looks like molded sugar or whipped cream.

  6. Step 6 6

Now this is what it should look like

  7. Step 7 7

    paint the 'cookie-part' light brown

  8. Step 8 8

and paint the 'sugar-part' in a pastel color of your choise

  9. Step 9 9

let them dry and spray some varnish over it

  10. Step 10 10

first paste the two cookie parts together with second glue and then the whole on the ring (also with strong second glue)

  11. Step 11 11

and of course I made some more of these in all kinds of colours! =)
