Fabric: Jersey knit cotton. I'd suggest using a thinner cotton/poly blend knit because it'll drape, wrap, and tie better. Mine was of an average thickness, but is a bit bulky when wrapped around several times.
Pieces: 4; two straps (2 yards long), a band, and skirt. I decided on a fuller, bubble skirt. I gathered the skirt at the waist and sewed it to the band, then folded the bottom hem and added elastic to give it a bubble shape.
I really liked this project! The dress is super versatile and I had fun playing around with the different ways to wear it. Have fun experimenting with the skirt when making it. Make it longer, shorter, add embellishments, whatever! There is so much room to make it your own.
