Customized comic strip shoes!
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

I had some old shoes that I didn't really wear too much(I bought them a few sizes too big :'() so I decided to expirement on them.

To make a long story short, I cut the little comics out of the sunday news paper and glued them onto my shoes... I think they turned out okay :D

Great idea! I have some old tennis shoes that I painted on but yours are better! I have a product called Omni Gel. It supposed to transfer certain kinds of print or pics to fabric, leather, wood, glass, etc..... I am wondering if newsprint would work -I will go buy a pair of tennis shoes and try it.. I will let you know how it worked out!

I'm not sure, I've never tried any other type of shoe. I actually planned on doing this to a pair of high heels. I'll have to test it out and see how it goes :)

I tried doing something like this awhile ago with newsprint but it got really hard and cracked nevertheless. Did that happen to you?

Oh, we have other thing that should work instead of clear acrylic! I don't know their names in english, in portuguese they're "Termolina Leitosa" and "Cola Pano". I'd make the cartoons waterproof with termolina leitosa and then pasting them to the shoes with cola pano =)

Your shoes look simply amazing =)

Would Mod Podge work? I don't know, I never worked with Mod Podge, would it make the paper too hard? =S I'm gonna buy a container and try it in some projects of mine =)
