Make a brand new chair from an old one
This is quite a time consuming task. but the end product is something really personal, also i used pictures of the latest ipods etc so in the future it will almost be like a time capsule.

  • How to make a chair. Collage Chair - Step 2
    Step 2

Cut out all pictures that you like- also cut out interesting text
you can use pictures from the internet as well but the quality is usually better in magazines

  • How to make a chair. Collage Chair - Step 3
    Step 3

Sand down an old wooden chair

  • How to make a chair. Collage Chair - Step 4
    Step 4

    Get sticking!!!
This took me the best part of a year but probably could be done in about 3 days if you set your mind to it.
Don't worry too much about how to place things, you can always put more pictures on top if you don't like them

  • How to make a chair. Collage Chair - Step 5
    Step 5

varnish with as many layers you feel is necessary (i used 6) Also be careful which varnish you use as the varnish i used cause my pictures to get black spots on them in places

I wonder if you glued or modge podged OVER the collage peices before putting the varnish on.. would that help from not getting black or yellowed spots.. it may work like resin does.. varnish is similar.. you have to podge anything a couple times if you are going to put resin over it.. Im gonna try it!
