a smooth brown colouring

ever wonder what to do with those left over grinds?

you can coffee dye two ways.

the coffee dip or resusing the grinds.

both make brown, the coffee dip offers a light bown(but if you leave it over night it gets darker)

the grinds also offer a light brown. just remember to filter the grinds.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

one: make a huge pot of coffee and dip the fabric in.

Leave it in over night if you want darker results

    then hang to dry.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    reuse those grinds.

filter them, using a coffee filter.

I place the fabric in a bowl and then put a strainer on top, I pour the grind-hot water mix over.

Use your judgment on how long you wish to keep the cloth in.

Just remember, the longer its in the mix the darker it gets.

  3. Step 3

    using coffee to paper dye.

get a large square pan(banking sheet works)

place the sheet down. pour the coffee over(cold coffee works best)

leave for a hour and take the sheet out and let dry.

I saw threadbanger dye some jeans in coffee... I have yet to try it. I love how coffee smells but can't stand the taste so using it as dye is the only way I'll ever make any :)
