i promised a how-to showing how to turn plain hair wefts into clip in bangs!
I made a pink and black version of these about a month ago, and some Co+K users wanted me to make a how-to. It took me a while, but I finally had time to do it!

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help if I can. Sorry if the pics aren't the best, I'm still getting the hang of this "how to" thing =P

The project will cost you almost nothing, if you already have some hair on the weft laying around. If you need to buy some, I get my 12" human hair wefts for about $12 a bag, and there's LOTS of it in a bag. Synthetic hair is even cheaper, but be sure to check the instructions in regards to styling and washing the fibers. Human hair is great, because it can be heat styled and cared for just as you'd care for your own.

  • How to make a hair extension. Clip In Fringe Made From Human Hair Wefts - Step 1
    Step 1

First, decide how long you want the piece to be. I like mine to be long enough that I can have short bangs across my whole forehead, and also some longer layered pieces that frame my face - so I make mine about 6 1/2 inches long. (about 165mm)

I cut two of these pieces. You can use all one color, or mix them, like I did with the black and pink. This one is all black.

I lay them on top of each other and carefully used a whipstitch to sew them together. Be sure that the top edges stay even, all the way across.

    Step 3

Take two small metal clips like these. One will be secured to the each end of the hairpiece.

Be certain that the clips are facing the right way! The first time I did this, I sewed one on wrong, and had to remove it and re-sew. The teeth should go downward when you snap it open.

Be sure to sew them securely.

These are easy to sew on, because there are small holes already in the comb, just for this purpose.

Cousin ITT!!! Ahhahahaha. Sorry, I amuse myself.

    Back to the important stuff:
clip the fringe in where you will wear it. Using a sharp pair of shears, begin trimming the hair the way you'd like it. Go slowly, and always remember: you can cut something shorter if you need to, but if you cut it too short from the beginning you can't make it longer!

    Step 8

Carefully flat iron the fringe to give it a nice shape, and the side pieces, if you have them.

    Ta da!
Now you can match your hair to any outfit, and you'll never have to wait for bangs to grow out! =]
