quick and easy holiday decoration

These are really easy to make and look beautiful for any holiday. Just match the ribbon to the occasion. I also made one for Halloween this year, using orange ribbon with little sparkly bats. You can use these for door decoration, on flower arrangements, on X-mas gifts, the possibilities are endless!!

  1. Step 1 1

Gather your supplies. You can use string instead of wire in a pinch, but I like wire because then you can stick your bow anywhere.

I got all these supplies at the dollar store, though I can't say much for the cutters...think i would have been better off using just my scissors lol

  2. Step 2 2

    ok here we go.....

Grab your piece of ribbon and pinch it in one hand. Leave a length at the end, however long you want your tails to be...yknow the part that hangs down from the bow.

  3. Step 3 3

ok, now make a loop with the ribbon and keep the 2 ends of the loop pinched between your fingers.

now here comes the complicated part.....

twist the ribbon 180 degrees before you loop it again

  4. Step 4 4

so you're gonna loop it and twist it and then loop it again going down the other way this time.

the reason you twist it is so the same side of the ribbon is facing out, the side with the glitter or whatever.

then twist it again when you come back up

  5. Step 5 5

So here it is after looping and twisting and looping and twisting again.....

you should have two loops facing different directions and keep it pinched in the middle the entire time....

now continue looping and twisting....up and down....

  6. Step 6 6

    loop and twist....loop and twist....

try to keep them the same size, it will look a lot better in the end

you can do as many loops as you want, the more loops, the bigger the bow....

  7. Step 7 7

i did 6 loops from 3yds of ribbon with a little left over

Remember to keep it all pinched between your fingers the entire time...don't let go!!!

when you've got enuff loops get your wire (or string or anything that ties...dental floss, twist ties)

  8. Step 8 8

wrap the wire around the center where you've been pinching it....with wire this is really easy

if you're tying it with something, you might wanna grab a helper to pinch it while you tie it or tie it while you pinch it lol

  9. Step 9 9

now here comes the fun part!!

fluff out the loops and arrange them how you want them...smooth them out so they're perfectly round and beautiful!!

  10. Step 10 10

    Voila!

now you can add embellishments...you can't really see in the picture but i put little jingle bells hanging down from the bottom

you could use anything you want....beads, feathers, flowers, or dried herbs....be creative!!

  11. Step 11 11

I think my red one turned out better....

but that might just be cuz the color is more bold

  12. Step 12 12

if you wanna do the cool wavy effect on the tails just bend it back and forth and then round it out shaping with your fingers

well i hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial...sorry my camera sucks and if i confused you....if i did confuse you just ask me and i will try to clarify

    Happy Crafting!! :)
