Pretty hairsticks made from simple bamboo chopsticks

You can find hairsticks everywhere on the internet and they are usually pretty expensive. Yet they are so easy to make.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Chopsticks usually are to long to use in your Hair, so the first thing to do is to short them a litle bit. How much you cut of depends on how thick and long your hair is, but in general they should be about 15 - 18 cm long.
After that use the drill to make a small hole at the thicker end.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Now point the end opposite to the hole with a pencil sharpener.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Then take a pice of sandpaper and sand all rough parts.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Now paint them. I've tried several paints, even nailpolish works.
But something waterproof might pay off, otherwise use glaze. ;-)

After that pull a piece of thread through the hole and and knot it, so that both ends are equally long. (Or not, if you want a little asymmetry. ^^)

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Now add the beads and prevent them from falling down with crimp beads.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Use them for your bun. ;-)

Great idea! I don't have the tools to do it (maybe will put them on my wish list for next Christmas though!), otherwise I would definitely give this a try.

I don't have the tools either. But I have nice neighbours who sometimes lend me stuff. ;)
