Step 1First of all draw out your Chicken. If you like you can use my one, download the PDF.

Step 2To get the templates, I used a light box and separate piece of paper to trace around the chicken, and then cut them out.

Step 3Pick your three colours of felt.

Step 4Trace around the templates on to the felt.

Step 5All your pieces should look like this. Also, pick a cute little button, which you will use as an eye.

Step 6This may seem like cheating, but it makes things so much easier. Take one of the main body parts and use a small amount of glue to add the tail feathers - layer them up nicely.

Step 7Add the beak, legs, hair and neck piece. Turn over and it should look like this.

Step 8Attach the wing to the front and sew on the small button as an eye using embroidery thread.

Step 9Now take the second body piece and a brooch back.

Step 10Stitch the brooch back on to the body piece using embroidery thread.

Step 11Place the two body pieces together and stitch around the whole outside of the chicken using matching thin thread.

Step 12Stitch with beige embroidery thread to add feather details to the wing.

Step 13Yay, you're all done!
