Instead of using sheet metal, which I didn't know where to find nor have the energy to try, I cut up a rinsed out soda can. What used to be a Diet Coke can is now jewelry - I think that's recycling to a new level. I poked holes through the metal pieces with a pushpin because the metal is so thin and painted with nail polish, chained it, and showed it off. People seem so amazed when they ask what it's made of and I show them the back of the necklace (which I purposely left unpainted for this reason) and they see the letters of the Coke can. Anyway, I made some earrings to go along with it as well.
