Stay organized - Make one of these bad boys!
I am a huge Ikea freak and I love Ikea Hacker. I have been looking for something to keep all my chargers and devices organized and I haven't found anything that I could afford and still pay back my student loans! So I started looking at DIY ideas for charging stations. These required lots of parts and tools that I just don'l have.

On one visit to my neighborhood Ikea, I had purchased a Mackis storage rack from my crafting space. I got to thinking that I could hack it and turn it into what I needed, with very few tools or extra parts.

In the end, I made the station in two hours while watching TV. I was able to use tools I had around. The only cost was the Mackis rack.

  • How to make a charging station. Charging Station (ikea Hack) - Step 1
    Step 1

I found one of these at Ikea for $9.99 and the rest is organizational history (for me anyway)!

*Note*- Make sure your power strip will fit in the slot properly. I bought some power strips from Ikea and they didn't fit. Luckily I had one at home that fit!

    Step 2

Cut and/or Drill a hole in the side of the box that is big enough for the power strip plug to fit through.

Decorate!! I first put a layer of tissue paper but I hated the look, so I covered it with some leftover old wrapping paper from Old Navy. Let all glue and paint dry.

    Step 4

Insert power strip. Pull the cord and plug through the opening.

Plug in your charging cords (wrap the cords with twistie ties). Charge away!!
