Cauldron Pincushion

More magical than a tomato - a potion filled pincushion!

This little gem came out of my Harry Potter obsession. Plastic cauldrons are easy to find during Halloween and St. Patrick's Day.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Gather your supplies (marbles not shown).

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Cut a circle about twice the size of the cauldron out of the fabric. Stitch a straight running stitch around the outside.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Pull the running stitch up about half way to gather the fabric circle.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Add weights to the bottom of the cauldron, top with polyfil. Add polyfil to the fabric circle, pull thread tight.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Squeeze hot melt glue under the lip of the cauldron. Push fabric into the cauldron, making sure it catches under the lip.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Done!

this is the perfect pincushion I've been looking for! If I find the plastic cauldrons, I'll buy two & make my mom one also.

I found mine at a party store in a package of about 10. They're super cheap, too. :)
